Klaviyo Pricing by Number of Profiles
Klaviyo prices its email plans on active profiles, not contacts, and the price rises in steps. Below are the tiers we read from Klaviyo's own pricing page, what the free plan covers, and an estimator for your list size.
Short answer: Klaviyo's free plan covers up to 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month. Paid email starts at $20 a month for 500 profiles, then rises with your list: $70 at 3,000 profiles and $200 at 11,000 (standard prices, October 29, 2026).
How this was checked. Prices are in US dollars and were read from the email estimator on Klaviyo's pricing page on October 29, 2026. Klaviyo has more tiers than we list (for example between 1,500 and 2,500 profiles, and between 5,000 and 11,000), so use Klaviyo's live estimator for your exact size. Prices, promotions and regional pricing can change. This page is based on Klaviyo's published information; we have not tested the product ourselves.

The 500-profile tier showed a limited-time $19 discount on the first month on the day we checked. Promotions change, so the table shows the standard price. Figures cover email only.

How Klaviyo prices email
- Active profiles, not contacts. Klaviyo bills on reachable profiles. Unsubscribed and suppressed profiles don't count towards the total.
- Sends are bundled. In every tier we read, the plan includes ten times as many email sends per month as active profiles, so 3,000 profiles includes 30,000 sends.
- Going over your sends. On paid plans, Klaviyo's flexible sending lets you send beyond your tier's allowance by using the next tier's capacity at your current unit rate. Check your billing settings and Klaviyo's help center for the exact rules on your account.
- Text messages are separate. SMS and other mobile messages are billed as a separate committed spend, not as part of the email price.
- Other products are add-ons. The figures above are email only. Klaviyo's other products are priced separately in its estimator.
What the free plan includes
Klaviyo's free plan covers up to 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month, which works out at two sends per profile. It also includes $5 of mobile messages a month. According to Klaviyo's help center (updated October 20, 2026):
- Email support is included for the first 60 days. After that, free accounts use the Community, Help Center and Academy.
- Free accounts show Klaviyo branding in email footers. Paid email plans remove it.
- Going over the free plan's 500 sends stops sending until the next billing cycle or an upgrade, and flow emails can be skipped.
Paid plans add email and chat support.
What this means in practice
This section is our analysis of the figures above, not Klaviyo's guidance.
- Cost per profile falls as the list grows. It is $0.040 a month at 500 profiles and about $0.018 at 11,000, so a larger list is cheaper per person but costs more overall.
- Compare the bill to what email earns. For example, a store with 3,000 profiles pays $70 a month ($840 a year). If email brings in $3,500 a month, the subscription is 2% of that revenue. Use your own attributed revenue, and remember that attribution settings vary.
- Your list count affects the bill. Because suppressed profiles aren't counted, how you manage who you can email changes your tier.
- The free plan is tight. Two sends per profile a month is roughly one campaign every two weeks, including any automated flow emails. A store sending more often will hit the limit.
